Look at the BSC experience: BSC-CNS YouTube Channel Let's stay connected with BSC Folks We promote Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, fostering an environment where each and every one of us is appreciated for who we are, regardless of our differences. **Context And Mission** The work will contribute to the "Integrating Molecular, Genomic, Morphological, and Environmental Features to Improve Precision Diagnosis and Treatment in Interstitial Lung Diseases (PRECISION-ILD)" project, led by Hospital de Bellvitge with the involvement of the AC group, and co-funded by Instituto Carlos III and European Union. **Key Duties** - Compilation and data curation of ancillary information - Processing and analysis of regulatory pollutant emission inventories - Perform emission and air quality modelling runs and evaluate their performance against in-situ observations - Support researchers in the execution and monitoring of complex model experiments - Communicating their results in project meetings and conferences - Participating in the intellectual life of the department **Requirements**: - Education - A BSc in physics, environmental engineering or similar - Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience - Knowledge in environmental, atmospheric, or chemistry sciences - 1+ years experience of emission and air quality modelling will be highly valued - Experience in programming and code development (Python and/or R) - Experience working in Unix/Linux environments - Fluent English, both written and spoken - Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience - Experience in HPC environments will be valued - Experience with revision control systems (e.g., SVN or Git) - Experience with GIS data and tools - Competences - Very good interpersonal skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to take initiative, prioritize and work under set deadlines - Ability to work both independently and within a team **Conditions** - The position will be located at BSC within the Earth Sciences Department - We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures - Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration - Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement - Starting date: June 2025 **Applications procedure and process** - A full CV in English including contact details - A cover/motivation letter with a statement of interest in English, clearly specifying for which specific area and topics the applicant wishes to be considered.
