Our commitments are to uncover technological solutions that enable significant advances in science, industry and society guaranteeing a competitive and sustainable digital future for all European citizens. **Key Duties** - Research on acceleration of HPC and AI workloads using software and hardware optimization techniques. - Implement benchmarks and datasets to evaluate LLMs accurary for HW design - Write scientific papers and actively engage in ongoing research lines and activities. - Coordinate and attend project meetings, collaborate with other MSc/PhD students in the group, and contribute to research teams and project deliverables. **Requirements**: - Education - Degree/Master in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (or a related area). - Publications in recognized computer science or AI conferences or journals are a plus, but not essential. - Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience - Strong background in hardware design, computer architecture, and performance analysis. - Advanced skills in HDL, such as SystemVerilog, VHDL, Chisel, Bluespec, etc. - Expertise in AI algorithms and data structures. - Expertise in C/C++ programming, performance engineering, and low-level optimizations. - Expertise in Python, Bash and basic Linux. - Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience - Experience with CUDA or FPGA programming is a plus but not essential. - Experience with R and Matlab is a plus but not essential. - Competences - Problem-solving, highly proactive, and result-oriented work attitude. - Strong teamwork skills and capability to work with international partners. - Strong communication skills, including proficiency in both written and verbal English. - Autonomy in researching and exploring new problems and lines of inquiry. **Conditions** - The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department - We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures - Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration - Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement - Starting date: 01/09/2025 **Applications procedure and process** - A full CV in English including contact details - A cover/motivation letter with a statement of interest in English, clearly specifying for which specific area and topics the applicant wishes to be considered.
