**Team Leader Financial Accounting**

Purpose: The position holder is responsible for providing high quality, accurate and timely business FA process transactions. The Team Leader manages a team of 10-15 people (accountants and accounting experts) in cooperation with respective local Bayer Accounting Platform (AccP) and the SSO Global Office organization.

Scope (global, regional or local): Global

Key Tasks:

- Responsible for timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions by leading, managing and motivating a team of accountants and accounting experts
- Implementation of General Accounting standard processes in local accounting organization and SSO ( within the agreed activity split and service level) incl. documentation, ICS-Controls and training material
- Participation in SSO community and / or expert network, link to other process/areas to achieve improvements in the whole of General Accounting
- Participation, involvement or management of projects (e.g. implementation of technical enablers, system migrations, roll-in / transitions of new services or companies)
- Ensure a cross-trained and multi-skilled, proactive team - Contribute to people development for his team
- Provide a high quality process performance and steer individual/team results
- Follow up and resolve issues and queries from internal and external stakeholders
- Comply with policies and procedures
- Contribute to process improvements and cost reduction

Key Working Relation:

- Operational Manager (Line Manager)
- Peer TLs and other TLs from other SSCDN functions partnering for the region, country or company (costumers)
- Process Experts and Accountant belonging to assigned team - Accounting Platform and Local Business stakeholders (eg.Controllers )
- External Auditor Qualification & Competencies: - University degree in Business Administration with majors in Qualification & Competencies: accounting / controlling or equivalent education
- Several years of professional experience in a financial accounting department for the a.m processes including team coordination - Profound technical knowledge of General Accounting and IAS/IFRS Standards
- Sound knowledge of SAP modules such as FI, OM, PA, EC-PCA, SAP runbook, etc
- Comprehensive knowledge of Bayer tools (E.g. BayRep, Business Warehouse, AP Accrual tool, SSF, SharePoint, etc..)
- Very good English skills including special terminologies in the area of Finance & Accounting, any other language beneficial
- Excellent oral/presentation and written communication skills ;
- Ability to visualize the process from end to end
- Management experience (personal leadership, coaching, interpersonal skills)
- Capability of target orientated working with diversified nationalities
- Pro-active personality for a good overview and an eye for quality, capability to anticipate change and prepare his team for smooth transition by planning, setting expectations and clear communications.
- An open and creative problem solver - Proficient in MS Office
- Assist in measuring performance (KPIs, ) against Service Level Agreements
