Looking for:
The Data Analyst & Data Visualization Expert

We are looking for a key role in our travel big data company. A person who can pick up large raw data files or connect to data via APIs to analyse it, manage it and be able to read it, in order to re-represent this data in a curious and understandable and easy to interpret by non-technical business stakeholders and customers way.

Data should be presented in a way that enables users to spot patterns, identify outliers, trends, and correlations.

The person will create best practice methods for enhancing presentation of data and end-user interactions with information for all our travel departments (hotel, airline, rent a car, events, reviews).

Previous Development experience in Tableau and Google Data Studio environments is essential.

Main responsibilities:

- Manage large data files
- Design and create data visualizations (reports and dashboards) to support industry stories.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business and industry characteristics.
- Work closely with data scientist stakeholders to explore additional calculations on top of the data
- Make the most of modern technologies sharing advice around usage of new capabilities
- Make large and/or complex data more accessible, understandable and usable

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

- More than 2-years previous experience building visualizations with Tableau including big data volumes (certification is a plus).
- Strong skills in Data Visualization tools: Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik
- Good understanding of database concepts and architecture including writing SQL statements
- Experience leveraging SQL and Python to tell stories with data
- Familiar with ETL/ELT processes and technologies
- Strong business orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organization skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural team
- Willingness and ability to train and teach others.
- Work with the technical team to translate business requirements into detailed technical design
- Ability to self-manage, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong consultancy orientation and experience, with the ability to form collaborative, productive working relationships across diverse teams and cultures is a must.
- The ability to work in a centralized/decentralized operating model, with varying implementation partners and implementation owners.
- English language essential. Location office: Barcelona
