**Main Tasks**:

- **
Identify Strategic Goals**:
Identify strategic goals for the product that align with the company's overall strategy. Formulate these goals into business requirements. Discuss these business requirements internally with stakeholders, sponsors, and involved colleagues, as well as with customers. The communication must be convincing. Get their approval.
- **
Translate and Ensure Compliance**:
Understand business requirements and translate them into actionable tasks. Document the tasks and create an early product design. Ensure with stakeholders that these are in compliance with SAP guidelines (e.g., security, legal, user-friendliness).
- **
Communicate and Bridge**:
Communicate business requirements to the development team. Act as a bridge between development and business. This task requires a thorough understanding of the requirements, both in content and technical aspects.
- **
Facilitate Development Collaboration**:
Work with various departments before and during development to enable the development of business requirements (e.g. get technical access to source data, ensuring technical releases). Define and drive collaboration processes and take responsibility for solving problems, rather than expecting solutions to come from elsewhere. Motivate individuals by addressing any resistance or unintentional blockers, and encourage them to take action.
- **
Project Management**:
Lead project management efforts. Maintain the product backlog (e.g. Jira Kanban Board), oversee the pipeline, and lead realization efforts. Provide regular updates using various reporting tools to keep sponsors, management, and stakeholders informed.
- **
Marketing**:
Continually seek opportunities to promote and increase awareness of the product. Conduct rollout sessions for colleagues and customer events using a value-based communication approach instead of a feature-based one. You are responsible for the product. It is your product.
- **
Communicate Effectively**:
Document and communicate product features, changes, and highlights clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Equip target groups with effective materials and training. The Product Owner can provide support here but is responsible for overseeing the effectiveness of these resources and ensuring smooth implementation.
- **
Customer Channels**:
Identify and establish direct communication channels with customers to gather feedback, as these connections do not form on their own.
- **
Regular Monitoring and Adaptation**

As a Product Owner at SAP, you'll maintain and enhance reporting systems in response to dynamic changes in products and services. Stay vigilant and proactive in monitoring company developments to identify and address challenges early. A high level of initiative is required to keep reporting current and functional. An example is the introduction of Cloud or the change from Product Categories to Solution Areas.

- Ability to collect and analyze information to rationalize and solve complex problems.
- Capability to quickly identify innovative solutions, particularly in managing and prioritizing backlog projects.
- Proficiency in effectively communicating solutions to the development team.

Communication Skills:
- Ability to clearly communicate product goals and backlog items with cross-functional teams.
- Competence in selecting appropriate communication channels and methods to ensure clarity.
- Capability to incorporate feedback and re-craft messages to resolve communication issues.

Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of agile methodologies, software development, programming, and UX principles.
- Experience in using technical tools to effectively manage and prioritize product backlogs (Jira).

Decision-Making Skills:
- Ability to make decisions based on analytical thinking, extending beyond assumptions and judgments.
- Competence in problem identification and in selecting the best alternatives for problem-solving.

Project Management Skills:
- Experience in project management processes such as initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
- Ability to successfully lead projects and meet requirements to realize product visions.
