**Center for the Governance of Change**

The
_Center for the Governance of Change_ (CGC) is an applied-research, educational institution based at IE University that studies the political, economic, and societal implications of the current technological revolution and advances solutions to overcome its unwanted effects.

The CGC produces pioneering impact-oriented research that cuts across disciplines and methodologies to unveil the complexity of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Blockchain, and Robotics, and explore its potential threats and contributions to society.

Moreover, the CGC also runs a number of executive programs on emerging tech for public institutions and companies interested in expanding their understanding of disruptive trends, and a series of outreach activities aimed at improving the general public’s awareness and agency over the coming changes. All this for one purpose: to help building a more prosperous and sustainable society for all.

The CGC, accordingly, aims to:

- Contribute to the public debate and advance the frontier of knowledge on breakthrough technologies.
- Enhance foresight thinking and capacity, striving to help both the public and private sectors to make better informed technology decisions and to adapt their organizations for the future.
- Hone societal and cultural awareness about the opportunities and shortcomings that technology entails.

**Responsibilities**:
The position of Project Coordinator at the CGC is a key component for its strategic planning and delivery. The Project Coordinator will support the CGC in its strategy as well as in its day-to-day projects and tasks:
**Key action areas** that support the development of research, training and outreach of the Center in a political and strategic capacity, including:

- Assist and report to the CGC’s Director and Executive Director
- Participate in the planning meetings of the CGC
- Liaise with the leadership of the CGC to make decisions on implementation and activity execution
- Participate in the meetings with the CGC Researchers
- Support the development of research and training programs as well as outreach initiatives
- Research and write on issues of key concern of the CGC
- Possibly appear in media on behalf of the CGC

The position also includes the management of critical operational tasks:

- Implement and monitor CGC’s day-to-day activities (events, publications, communications...)
- Coordinate and manage the CGC’s online presence (website, social media, etc.)
- Coordinate staff from different IE departments that provide services to the CGC (communications, marketing, etc.)
- Review financial information and adjust operational budgets
- Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors

- Fascination for innovation and technology as a driver of change
- Interest for research realm, especially in the spaces of policy and technology
- Speech writing and writing abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Digital skills: Social media (Twitter and Linkedin), Web (Wordpress), Data Visualisation (Tableau, Python), etc. Nice to have: AI and Automation
- Proficient English and Spanish
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in International Relations, Political Science, Global Affairs, etc.)
- 2-3 years of project management experience or similar relevant experience
