Senior Mechanical Innovation Engineer

Multinational company located in Gandía, Valencia.
Manufacturer of hot drinks machines. Whose products reach offices, specialised shops in the sector and hotels/restaurants.
For its R&D Centre we are going to select a Senior Mechanical Innovation Engineer.
You will be involved in multiple projects related to machine technologies, systems and developments.
You will also travel with some frequency in Europe and Asia to work closely with partners and colleagues.
Main responsibilities:
- Works on new product design, develops new innovative solutions for new machine projects, product improvements, testing analysis and production linkages.
- Prepares detailed analysis, performance testing, planning and scheduling, and cost information, including programme criteria consistent with management objectives.
- Responsible for the timely and cost-effective development of product designs, component and material requirements, bills of materials and assembly instructions for commercial equipment.
- Performs highly technical engineering work including material selection, structural requirements, tolerances, aesthetics and testing.
- Provides task review and direction to less experienced personnel as required.
**Tasks**:
1. Mechanical construction of the machine - 70%
a.) Develop new innovative solutions for new machine projects.
b.) Develop innovative solutions for new core technology in close cooperation with our suppliers and the development team in Shanghai and Spain.
c.) Verify your design with prototypes in your laboratory
d.) Knowledge transfer and close contact with your R&D development centres
e.) Support your test departments in Spain and Shanghai to validate the machines to ensure a successful launch after testing.
2. Coordination of new business development requests - 20%.
a.) Generate preliminary project documentation from the Design Description, Commercial Specification and Technical Specification.

b.) Supporting Product Owners on issues and new requests in the field.
c.) Work closely with key technology suppliers to ensure that products are developed in accordance with the company's quality standard.
3. Development, research and evaluation of new technologies and core components - 10%.
a.) Identification of new trends and technologies (Conferences, Fairs, Collaborations with external inventors and universities,...)
b.) Accumulation of market knowledge
c.) Coordination of tests for new developments (Shanghai, external Spain,...)
d.) Working closely with leading technology suppliers to ensure that products are manufactured according to the company's quality standard.
e.) Monitor/a the competition in the market and perform comparative testing of the functions, quality and performance of our competitors' equipment.
**Requirements**:
- Necessary software skills: Microsoft Office and high level of Solidworks (free form plastic injection moulded parts).
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Fluent English (working language)
- Training in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years working experience
- High interest in cost, ease of maintenance, cleanliness and tight assembly.
- Demonstrated high capacity for innovation
- Ability to draw on knowledge from all other departments.
- Extensive knowledge of materials, production and solutions
- A can-do mentality.
- Experience in production methods, design, documentation, assembly and maintenance, cost reduction, ergonomics.
- Structured and proactive way of working, as an independent person and also working in a team with high individual responsibility.
