**Role Description**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join RWE Renewables, one of Europe’s largest renewable energy players. As part of the European and Australian Development directorate, the Project & Pipeline Management (PPM) department provides project and pipeline co-ordination and support to optimise of all aspects of our multi-GW Development pipeline of Onshore Wind, Solar and Storage projects, including the delivery of ~0.5-1 GW of Financial Investment Decisions per annum from across 11 country markets and growing.

PPM is hiring a Global Project Manager to lead our activities in Italy & Spain cluster for Onshore wind, Solar, and Storage, as well as provide flexible services as required across the wider development portfolio, as determined by pipeline needs.

**Key deliverables will include**:

- Co-ordinate provision of GPM services and advice to local development cluster teams, as determined by pipeline requirements. Such services shall include (a) Project/programme management, (b) Providing project/pipeline advice to local team leads (including up to Head of dev. cluster, and Dev. director level), (c) Tool provision & support, (d) Relationship management, and (e) Optimisation & knowledge transfer (at project/pipeline level).
- Leading Dev. co-ordination of investment Gate activities (inc. Decision Proposals), covering all development projects, including co-ordination of project assumption book preparation, preparations for competitive tenders (Subsidy/PPA). Programme management duties may also require take responsibility for overall leadership for development of late stage projects, e.g. in last 12 month prior to Financial Investment Decision.
- Maintaining good overall understanding of respective local Dev. cluster project pipeline, in terms of timing, risks, commercial optimisation opportunities, project strengths and weaknesses, and pipeline priorities, thus enabling the provision of adhoc Dev. pipeline analysis, as required by Dev. Country leads.
- Dev. lead for relationship interfaces to Commercial and Investment & Valuation and other departments (inc. Operations, Construction, Controlling, Engineering, Resource Assessment and Procurement), for all dev. projects (at all stages of development), alongside stakeholder management duties in preparation for governance decisions/approvals (inc. Financial Investment Decisions and Handover to the Construction directorate).
- Providing leadership on all aspects of onshore wind, solar and storage project optimisation as well as knowledge transfer - feeding back late stage project experiences to wider pipeline via Project Optimisation reviews and individual project team participation. Knowledge transfer will be supplemented by the GPM’s contribution to, and participation within, PPM’s knowledge transfer framework which services exchange of best/worst practices across countries, across technologies, across dev. stages/phases, and across departments.
- Form part of the Global Project Management team - providing expert input to resolving identified organisation wide process/system/tool operational topics, and (alongside project work) occasionally taking lead responsibility for address of such topic on behalf of the broader Dev. business. Each GPM is expected to contribute to the establishment of EU/Australia business wide strategic steering, and the identification, prioritisation and direct address of strategic operational topics (e.g. new process/tool/system formation, stakeholder relationship reform, lessons learnt and continuous improvement initiatives).
- Working very closely alongside the relevant Cluster/Country Head of Dev. (N2/3) to ensure pipeline wide activities and processes are understood, and also progressed in a timely, well co-ordinated, and consistent manner (e.g. Optimisation & Financial Modelling review, Process reform, Dev. Tool roll out).
- Authoring and presenting investment business cases to the RWER board (alongside the respective Dev head) as part of the company’s investment approval process and wider steering framework, and take lead responsibility to ensure cross company and cross hierarchical alignment (to highest corporate levels) on investment decisions and related opportunities (where deal size can range to over 100m Eur per annum). Supporting and co-ordinating Developers in the establishment of individual project Business cases, capable of servicing directorate wide governance structures.
