NoOffer DescriptionThe InstituteThe Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed of an interdisciplinary, motivated and creative scientific team supported by a flexible and efficient administration and high-end innovative technologies.The desired candidate will provide patient-derived organoid (PDOs), mouse and human pluripotent 2D (monolayer) and 3D (organoids) stem cell differentiation procedures and execute CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing services. The candidate will set up specific 2D/3D differentiation and gene editing procedures upon user request for specific projects.The candidate should be highly motivated, decisive, methodological, with accurate work habits and be a good team member. The ideal candidate has a strong ability to multi-task and a service-oriented mentality. The position involves working some weekends and holiday days during the year.The UnitThe Tissue Engineering Facility is a scientific-technological Core Facility within the Core Facilities Program. The goal of the Tissue Engineering Unit is to provide CRG, PRBB and external researchers with the latest technologies used in the fields of stem cell biology, stem cell differentiation, organoid formation, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. It was created 8 years ago to help the research community in performing Stem Cell and Organoids projects to increase the impact of Stem Cell and Organoid projects and applications. The Unit is constantly setting up new technologies that are emerging in the above fields.Whom would we like to hire?Professional experienceMust HaveAt least 3 years' experience in stem cell biology and ES/iPS cell differentiation systemsAt least 1 year experience in CRISPR/CAS9 or related gene editing systemExperience in working in a Core Facility or Industry/Biotech/R&D FacilityExperience in troubleshooting cell differentiation processes and assays is a plusExperience in PDOs is a plusExperience in delivering projects to agreed schedules, budgets and quality standards is a plusEducation and trainingBachelor's degree in biology or a related fieldMaster/PhD Degree is a plusLanguagesProficient in SpanishTechnical skills requiredStrong Tissue Culture experience for human and mouse ES/iPS cells and PDOsStrong experience in ES cell differentiationExperience in cell lines gene editingExperience with immunofluorescence, confocal and FACS analysis for cellular characterizationsCompetencesHighly developed organization skillsHighly motivatedCapable of working in a groupHigh degree of work autonomyCommunicativeService orientedMultitasking skillsThe Offer – Working ConditionsContract duration: Technical and scientific activities contract – estimated 1 year with possibility of extensionEstimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scalesWe provide a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructures, and unique professional career development opportunities.
