Coach and mentor othersInspire, develop, recruit, and motivate a software engineering team. Conduct regular 1:1s with team members, set individual development or improvement plans, and foster a healthy feedback culture within the team.Evaluate performance and help improve it if necessaryCollaborate with Area Product Owner and other key stakeholdersLong-term resource planning and hiring in collaboration with the Head of EngineeringCollaborate with other Engineering Managers to have a common technical strategy across the productCollaborate with People and Talent Partner to recruit, onboard and develop talentCollaborate with Agile team on processes and org structureNavigate change and collaboratively discover innovative solutions with your team and various stakeholders within a dynamic and evolving environment.Oversee the team’s strategy, quarterly goals, business-technical metrics and organizational structureEvaluate Area and Teams performance and unblock obstaclesExample of your Goal:Scale the Instagram Channel area from one to three teams. Provide and execute a step-by-step plan on how we will grow to three teams (hiring plan, team split strategy, roles distribution) in communication with the stakeholders (Head of Engineering, Product Owner, etc.).Minimum Requirements:7+ years of experience working in a product team as a PHP developer (we use PHP 8)Track record of successfully leading and scaling cross-functional development teams with backend and frontend scope (ideally at least two years' experience in an Engineering Manager role)High level of hands-on technical experience in software development and architecture, with several years of experience working as a senior software developerProfound expertise in back-end software development and system designYou would enjoy a 30% share of hands-on technical work (code and architecture reviews, technical design, hands-on coding, ...)Experience in Agile values and principlesCommunication skills to clearly and effectively convey thoughts and ideas while actively listening and responding to othersCollaboration skills to effectively work with others to achieve common goals. Ability to ask questions and seek help.Proactivity to take initiative and anticipate future challenges or opportunities, rather than merely reacting to events as they occurSense of Ownership, being accountable for actions, taking ownership of decisions and projectsFlexibility to pick things up on the go, readiness to keep moving the needle even though the conditions are not perfect (they’re never perfect).Adaptability to adjust effectively to new conditions, being open to change, learning new skills and maintaining a positive attitude in uncertainty or unexpected situationsProduct orientedness with a strong interest in product and focus on customer needs.
