Position: Networking/Security Technical Consultant for Backup Systems Location: Madrid, Spain Field: Space Type: Full‑time / 70% Remote Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Full‑time Job function: Information Technology Industries: IT Services and IT Consulting Responsibilities / Core Tasks Architecture design of the system from a networking/security perspective Ensure compliance with ESA Security Directives (INFOSEC, risk management) Lead architecture and design of the networking part for the new ESA backup & storage system Install, configure, and integrate enterprise networking/security solutions Configure networking, security, and system hardening Produce high‑quality technical documentation (HLD/LLD, procedures, test plans) Must‑Have Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Communication, Electronics or equivalent experience Relevant professional experience of minimum 6 years System architecture experience in secure environments Very good understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls) L3 network technical support and troubleshooting Very good understanding of network traffic security concepts & products Experience in zoning on SAN switches Solid understanding of hardware servers, storage, SAN switches Experience with security solutions (firewalls, WAF, SIEM, EDR, NDR, threat intelligence, security patch management), load balancing Relevant technology partner certifications Experience with system hardening, encryption, security best practices Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving ability Fluent English is mandatory Nice‑to‑Have Skills Experience with space‑sector or governmental security Familiarity with accreditation processes Linux / Windows administration VMware / Hyper‑V Bash, PowerShell, Python (preferred) ISO 27001 or similar security frameworks Documentation tools: Confluence, Visio, Markdown What We Offer We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and cultures to contribute their unique perspectives.
