Operational excellence is one of the four core strategic pillars of APM Terminals’ long‑term strategy. This platform supports current and new terminals where all value streams are standard, scalable and replicable from acquisition to construction, integration and operation. Implementing, optimizing and scaling Operations Technology will play a pivotal role in achieving our strategic goals, ranging from rapid brownfield automation to optimizing man‑hours and running‑hours per move by deploying process‑automation solutions in conventional terminals. To be successful, our terminals need a focused, aligned and agile global team that adds value through subject‑matter expertise, standardization and agile decision‑making. Role Overview – Product Coordinator for Auto‑gate Systems As part of the Process Automation team within the Operations Technology function, the Product Coordinator for Auto‑gate Systems plays a key role in the stabilization of current auto‑gate systems, problem‑solving, and deployment. The role will drive standardization across terminals, manage auto‑gate requirements, control all gate‑scope components, identify risks and deviations, and support all product live phases. Principal Accountabilities Coordinate internally with the process automation product team and externally with cross‑functional teams, applying product‑management communication, design systems and strategic thinking, and industrial‑IoT best practices throughout the product life cycle. Understand customer needs, business requirements and pain points; translate them into product requirements and develop use cases to support design, deployment, adoption and iteration. Support product implementation during deployment phases by attending recurring meetings (on‑site or remote), working with project management, procurement and product leads through tender, contract allocation, design, documentation, testing, Go‑Live and hyper‑care. Oversee and participate in product testing phases such as FAT, laboratory testing, SIT, SAT, UAT and Go‑Live, validate outcomes, and continually improve test cases and acceptance criteria. Lead fact‑based, data‑driven root‑cause analysis using Lean Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control practices to stabilize and improve product performance. Promote solution demonstrations and technical training to terminal teams throughout the product life cycle, review training materials, and ensure alignment with scope and product requirements. Create, maintain and continuously improve all relevant product documentation, policies and technical standards, including vendor manuals, retrofitting guides, support procedures and QA/testing documentation. Participate in product road‑mapping, prototype design and testing, proof‑of‑concept development, and creation of minimum viable products following the modular, scalable, agnostic, fast‑to‑deploy strategy. Ensure system performance monitoring, lead optimization efforts and conduct technical gap analyses. Perform risk assessments, manage change control and maintain comprehensive documentation. Shared Responsibilities Product performance and roadmap delivery (with PA Leads) Budget compliance (with PA Leads) Support and oversee QA/test cases (OT PD&M/Terminal/Tech) Contribute to new product documentation requirements and deployment documentation (with PA Leads) Apply IT and OT standards (with Tech) Regulatory compliance and audits (with PA Leads) Change management and product adoption (AD/OT PM&M /Terminal/Operations) End‑user training (Terminal) Level 3 Support (with rest PA Leads & GLASS) Critical Qualifications / Skills / Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT, supply chain, business or related field. Maritime operations bachelor or equivalent product‑management certification. Minimum 2 years of experience in product management as coordinator or business analyst in technology and/or operations, preferably with automation and/or in the transport and logistics sector. Experience in a real‑time operating/industrial environment (logistics, shipping, etc.). Familiarity with testing processes and troubleshooting (FAT/LAB/SIT/SAT/UAT). Strong understanding of port‑equipment automated systems, controls, industrial infrastructure architecture or port‑automation technologies. Design‑systems strategy, critical thinking, stakeholder coordination, business analysis and product optimisation skills. Analytical and problem‑solving mindset.
