The Energy Risk Consultant’s key mission is to execute the risk consulting strategy for energy transition, aiming at optimizing value‑added support to the risk carrier (risk knowledge, risk selection, loss reduction) for the profitability of insured business and risk consulting services to clients as part of the payer‑to‑partner strategy. Responsibilities Advise underwriters on industry‑specific risks and support clients in implementing their carbon‑emission reduction strategy. Interact with the engineering team supporting the broad energy portfolio of AXA XL. Meet with underwriters, brokers and clients of the energy industry to discuss specific risk‑consulting solutions that help clients improve risks while working toward a reduction of their carbon emissions. Visit client sites to evaluate location‑ and industry‑specific risks and report findings to underwriting and the client. Work closely with AXA XL’s Energy Engineers and Underwriters across the globe, providing insights into industry trends, emerging issues and technical information for decarbonization. Help the underwriting team enhance their risk knowledge, select profitable clients and reduce losses. Work in compliance with our technical rules and guidelines. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues interested in energy transition. Collaborate with the local claims team to better understand the losses we pay. Qualifications Degree in engineering (industrial, chemical, process, mechanical). Experience in the energy industry or a similar risk‑consulting position. Experience with renewable technologies such as wind, solar and BESS. Relevant experience in thermal power generation or oil & gas useful but not essential. Interest in the energy transition and a desire to learn about new and emerging technologies. Ability to work autonomously, a proactive self‑starter, strong relationship skills and a team player.
