Senior Manager - Assurance and Advisory ServicesJob No: 1Job type: AssuranceLocation: Port-of-SpainResponsibilities:Find new business opportunities with new and existing clients.Develop, keep, and grow a network of contacts outside the firm (e.g., University alumni, professional associations).Ensure prompt communication with clients on any unresolved issues.Follow legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence, and advising clients on needed actions.Act as a team player to ensure high-quality client service.Interview and recruit the right staff as needed.Train and develop staff to execute assignments with increasing levels of difficulty and responsibility.Conduct in-house training for assurance staff.Ensure team building and effective communication.Supervise staff to ensure work is being executed as planned or approve changes to the plan.Complete performance appraisals with staff.Approve staff time sheets and check attendance.Responsible for the day-to-day direction, supervision, and performance of the audit in compliance with professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.Supervise the work of other members of the audit team.Perform on-the-job training.Review the documentation of work performed.Coordinate the planning, execution, and completion of the audit with the lead partner.Document the fulfillment of this role by completing Voyager's Senior Manager Review program, signing off work papers reviewed, and keeping time records.Actively participate in all phases of the audit.Remain alert to possible violations of policies, performing observations, making inquiries, participating in meetings, and assessing information provided by the firm's quality control and management information systems.Education/Qualifications:Secondary school education including the attainment of at least five (5) ‘O’ levels including English Language and Mathematics and/or two (2) ‘A’ levels.Demonstrate a working knowledge of updated IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, ISAs, and set up internal standards and procedures.Experience:5-6 years’ experience in an accounting/audit environment or equivalent.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Role-specific ability: Develops and coordinates the application of technical and professional standards within the team.Initiative: Identifies wider business possibilities and is resourceful in making them happen.Adaptability: Improves divisional work practices and works with clients to enhance their performance by offering versatile and innovative solutions.Ownership: Manages self and team responsibilities, creating an environment that allows the team to perform to its best.Business insight: Makes commercial decisions that affect the department. Manages risk and liability in assignments.Critical thinking: Makes sound business decisions, balancing the interests of the firm and the client.
