We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, operate gracefully under stress, effectively manage multiple assignments, be self-driven, proactive, and have great interpersonal and communication skills.As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of our development team, working alongside experienced engineers to build and maintain our core cybersecurity products. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply your skills in a real-world setting, contributing to the development of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals with a passion for software development and a desire to build a career in cybersecurity.Role & ResponsibilitiesSoftware Development:Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of software components using Go, Python, and/or Node.js.Implement new features and enhancements under the guidance of senior engineers.Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.Participate in code reviews and learn from feedback.Testing and Quality Assurance:Write and execute unit tests and integration tests.Assist in the testing and validation of new features and releases.Collaboration:Work closely with other engineers, product managers, and designers to understand requirements and implement solutions.Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.Continuous Learning:Actively learn and expand your technical skills and knowledge.Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development and cybersecurity.Participate in team knowledge-sharing activities and training sessions.Minimum QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Technical Skills:Familiarity with at least one of our core languages (Go, Python, Node.js).Basic understanding of web development concepts and technologies.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).Soft Skills:Strong communication and collaboration skills.Eagerness to learn and a growth mindset.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Passion for technology and problem-solving.Bonus Points:Internship or project experience in software development.Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP).Interest in cybersecurity.Contributions to open source projects.Required Technical SkillsProgramming LanguagesBasic understanding: At least one of the following: Go (Golang), Python, or Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript)Willingness to learn: Eagerness to learn and become proficient in the primary languages used by the teamWeb DevelopmentBasic understanding: HTML, CSS, JavaScriptBonus: Experience with frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)DatabasesBasic understanding: SQL, basic database concepts (tables, queries, relationships)Bonus: Experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDBVersion ControlBasic understanding: Git for version controlBonus: Experience with branching, merging, and resolving conflictsProblem-Solving and DebuggingEssential: Ability to approach and solve technical problems methodicallyBonus: Experience using debugging tools and techniquesAdditional Skills (Nice to have)Familiarity with basic algorithms and data structuresUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)Interest in cybersecuritySoft SkillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsEagerness to learn and adapt to new technologiesAbility to take initiative and work independently with guidanceWillingness to receive and act on feedbackPlease note: The terms "Basic understanding" and "Bonus" denote the level of expertise expected in each skill area.
