Today the school has grown to over 1300 students and is based on six sites in central Madrid.We are looking for a temporary Mathematics Teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning and is excited to join one of the best international schools in an amazing city in Spain.Responsibilities:Planning, Teaching and Class Management:- To model and deliver outstanding practice in own subject area.- To have high expectations of all students based on relevant data.- To support, challenge and stretch students as appropriate.- To teach using a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning, meeting the demands of the syllabus and the needs of the students.- To provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual or groups of students.- To maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour and standards of work.- To assess students’ work in line with school policies and procedures referring to student performance targets.Monitoring and Evaluating:- To use data, both externally and internally produced, to assess student performance and to develop appropriate courses of action.- To review methods of teaching on a regular basis.- To produce annual reports and mid-term grades for all students taught.Other Responsibilities:- To participate in the school’s staff development programme.- To continue personal development in relevant areas especially subject knowledge & teaching methods.- To engage actively with the school’s performance management programme.- To act as a form tutor.- To help with extra-curricular activities as required.- To work as a member of a team, positively contributing to effective working relations within the school.- To attend open evenings and parents’ evenings.- To attend morning assemblies and staff morning briefing unless on duty.Profile:University graduate and qualified with UK approved PGCE or international equivalent.The person should be able to teach up to IGCSE.Safeguarding: Cognita schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment.
