Job title: Wind Technical ManagerLocation: Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain (Hybrid)The Green Recruitment Company is looking for a Wind Technical Lead to join a global IPP with a presence in over 10 countries.Role Overview:Reporting to the Head of Engineering the chosen professional will play a pivotal role in providing technical support to local project teams and corporate business assurance across all aspects related to wind asset engineering and technology.Head the wind engineering and technology domain within the Engineering function, addressing business requirements for assets at various stages (development, construction, and operations), as well as M&A opportunities.Develop, implement, and uphold management processes, guidelines, and standards related to wind engineering and turbine engineering, ensuring strict adherence to these processes.Recruit, nurture, retain, and lead a high-performing team of wind experts.Offer technical support to country and corporate teams throughout all project lifecycle phases.Proactively share knowledge and experiences with other departments across the organization.Enhance business understanding and capabilities in turbine health monitoring, predictive maintenance, and diagnostics.Serve as the central coordinator for wind engineering and turbine-related issues.Assist in turbine selection for development projects, evaluating turbine technology and site suitability.Act as the technical lead for turbine supply, service, and maintenance negotiation and procurement.Define standards and scope for turbine inspection and commissioning reviews during project delivery.Support Asset Management in reviewing turbine performance during the early phase of project operation.Lead technical due diligence for wind operational projects and contribute to risk and opportunity assessments for potential acquisitions.Develop DEVEX, CAPEX, and OPEX assumptions.Key Requirements, Skills, and Competencies:Possess a degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering or an equivalent discipline.Demonstrate proven experience and expertise in wind turbines acquired through working on operational renewable power projects.Encouraged experience in team management.In-depth knowledge of wind turbines and subsystems.Detailed familiarity with wind turbine suppliers and models.Understanding of certification, suitability, and fatigue modelling.Experience in negotiating turbine supply and service agreements.Familiarity with SCADA monitoring software and third-party data analytics tools.Experience with vibration-based condition monitoring.Strong project management skills and ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams.Excellent communication skills, including building relationships across diverse cultures.Flexibility and openness to new ways of working.Strong drive for results, setting challenging goals and exceeding them.Fluent English speaker.Willingness to engage in international travel.How to Apply:Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your qualifications and interest in the role to Catalina Fonrodona (c.fonrodona@greenrecruitmentcompany.com)
