This department covers the areas of Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cash management, Reporting and VAT among others.The Country Accountant will get overall accounting and reporting responsibility for several countries in the EMEA region. This includes maintaining the books and records for the day-to-day activities and performing month end closing activities regarding Balance Sheet Accounts and Profit & Loss Accounts for assigned countries. Month end closing activities and reporting are performed according to US GAAP. In addition, the Country Accountant is responsible for annual statutory reporting under local GAAP of the countries assigned with the assistance of local advisors.What you will doPrepare and post relevant journal entries including appropriate documentationManage fixed asset register for certain countriesProvide reliable explanation and follow up for all major movements in Trial BalanceProcess payroll reports and review accounts used for verification of accuracyPerform balance sheet accounts reconciliations and P&L fluctuation analysis at month endParticipate in the Intercompany process, including transfer of funds among entitiesReview work prepared by external accountants for some outsourced countries in the EMEA regionAssist with compliance for statutory/corporate tax related work and annual auditsComplete governmental statistics or reports to be submitted on a periodic basisWork closely with the AP specialist to monitor expenses coming from sub ledgerBank statement reconciliation; process ad hoc manual payments when requiredSupervise correctness and timely submission of VAT returns prepared by the AP accountantSupport the Manager of the Financial Services on one-time projects (open of new entities, mergers, acquisitions)What makes you an ideal candidateBachelor's degree in Accounting / EconomicsPrevious General Ledger accounting experienceGood accounting skills and solid financial backgroundFlexible team player, able to change scope of work from time to timeWell organized and pro-active with regards to administrative improvementsMust have the ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced changing environmentCommunication skills (English mandatory; one other European language is an advantage)Computer skills: MS Office (mainly Excel) literate; Oracle experience is highly preferredWhat we offerOur employee benefits including flexible workplace policies, employee resource groups, learning and development resources, career progression pathways, and community engagement initiatives are some of the reasons why we have had great success in bringing in new talent.
