Our European headquarters is in Barcelona, leading the brand’s development across the region.Work arrangementThis position is based fully on-site at our Barcelona office.Why join us?Shape and lead ESG strategy in a fast-growing international automotive brand.Drive high-impact sustainability projects across Europe.Work directly with EU regulators, investors, NGOs, and industry associations.Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to integrate ESG into business operations.Enjoy strong career growth opportunities in an innovative environment.Competitive compensation package.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the ESG Director in formulating and implementing the company’s ESG and sustainability strategy.Lead ESG projects including carbon neutrality, renewable energy adoption, and green supply chain initiatives.Develop and monitor ESG performance indicators and prepare ESG-related reports in line with international standards (GRI, SASB, CSRD, etc.).Coordinate with internal departments (HR, Operations, Compliance, Finance, etc.) to integrate ESG practices into business operations.Engage with stakeholders including investors, government agencies, NGOs, and industry associations to strengthen ESG reputation, collecting and tracking stakeholder expectations.Track international and EU ESG regulatory developments and provide guidance to ensure compliance.Directly or indirectly manage compliance with current and future ESG-related local and EU regulations (EUBR, EUDR, F-gas, CO2 emission standards, CBAM, CSDDD, CSRD, EU Forced Labor, Green Claim, CLP, etc.).Communicate with EU / local ESG legislative bodies to stay updated on regulation development and amendments.Empower local employees on ESG compliance awareness and supervise implementation.Promote CSR activities and employee participation in sustainability programs, and communicate Chery’s ESG practices in the EU to enhance brand image.Support external ESG audits and rating agency evaluations, ensuring transparent and accurate disclosures.RequirementsBachelor’s degree or above in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Law, Business Administration, or related fields.10+ years of ESG, sustainability, compliance, or CSR experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.Candidates with a legal and compliance background will be prioritized.Familiarity with international and EU ESG standards and frameworks (GRI, SASB, CSRD, TCFD, UN SDGs).Strong project management, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.Fluent in English, Spanish and Catalan; Chinese is a plus.Experience in multinational corporations or automotive / industrial sectors preferred.Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.High level of integrity, strategic thinking, and ability to work under pressure.What we offerCompetitive salary range.Executive career path in a leading international automotive brand.Opportunity to lead ESG transformation and compliance in the EU region.Exposure to global ESG practices and collaboration with international teams.On-site position at our Barcelona headquarters.#J-18808-Ljbffr
