Overview Join to apply for the Manager, Product Design role at Rover.com . We’re looking for a leader who combines hands‑on design work with people management to shape our Booking flow and user experience across web, iOS, and Android. The Opportunity Rover is looking for a Manager, Product Design to join our growing team in Barcelona. This is a unique \"player‑coach\" role for a leader who is passionate about both hands‑on design and people management. You will lead and mentor a talented team of designers focused on our critical Booking flow, while also acting as a key contributing designer on strategic projects. You will be a customer advocate and a role model, partnering with design and product leadership in Barcelona and Seattle to ensure a consistent and high‑quality user experience. This is an opportunity to directly shape the future of our product, grow a high‑performing team, and embody our value of a \"Relentless pursuit of inspiring outcomes\". While in the first months of this role will be a mix of hands‑on work and leadership/coaching responsibilities, there is space to grow into a more strategic role, where hands‑on work will be limited (if you choose so). This is a hybrid position that has the minimum expectation to work out of our Barcelona Office in the Poblenou neighborhood two days per week on Mondays and Thursdays. For this reason, candidates must be based in Barcelona or willing to relocate. Responsibilities & Leadership Mentor and manage a team of high‑value mid‑to‑senior level Product Designers, providing learning opportunities, feedback, and support to help them succeed. Cultivate a culture of deep empathy for users and team members, championing psychological safety and collaboration. Uphold and elevate the standard for UI/UX design within the team, with regular UX reviews before development. Champion the active use and evolution of our design system (Kibble), ensuring your team contributes to consistency and efficiency. Provide transparent communication, manage expectations, and give/receive feedback from team, stakeholders and leadership. Lead by example as a lead designer focused on the Booking Flow, translating complex user problems into simple, scalable solutions. Own the design vision for your team's domain and influence roadmaps by detailing long‑term plans into manageable improvements. Deliver engaging customer experiences from concept to high‑fidelity, including user flows, prototypes, and design specs, while maintaining delivery pace. Leverage data and insights to inform decisions, validate assumptions, and measure impact. Communicate with clarity, presenting user problems and design solutions to stakeholders and leadership, including value, trade‑offs, and risks. What We're Looking For 2+ years in a management or lead role on a design team, with a proven record of coaching and developing designers. 7+ years of product design experience with a cross‑platform B2C portfolio demonstrating product thinking and customer focus. Exceptional UX and visual design skills with the ability to teach and guide others on composition, interaction patterns, and prototyping. A solutions‑oriented mindset and the ability to operate at both high‑level concepts and detailed deliverables. Excellent communication skills with experience tailoring messages for diverse audiences and receiving feedback gracefully. Proficiency in design tools like Figma. Experience designing global products with scalable designs across languages and user needs. Benefits of Working at Rover.com Competitive compensation Long‑term incentive plan with a company performance‑based cash payout Permanent contract Pension plan Meal tickets through Cobee Private health insurance Discounted gym membership Bring your dog to work and unlimited puppy time Financial support for adopting a dog or cat plus yearly platform credit Variety of snacks, fresh fruit, and beverages Regular team activities, including happy hours and game nights Rover is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to promoting a diverse, inclusive, and inventive environment.
