Veeda Lifesciences is seeking a Director of Clinical Operations based in Europe for its growing international hematology/oncology Clinical Trials program. This is a full-time, permanent position. Job overview: The Director, Clinical Operations (COD) has overall responsibility for customers management and operational excellence of the Clinical Operations department. This includes the provision of overall clinical leadership, as well as the supervision of Clinical Operations activities to ensure service levels and quality meet and exceed established clinical standards. In this context, the COD engages in the creation, innovation, evaluation, development and implementation of structures and process improvement initiatives and collaborates and facilitates communication and translation of business, regulatory and technology requirements regarding all clinical facets among departments. Main responsibilities: Strategy and Planning Support the COO in defining long-term strategic plans aligned with business goals. Contribute to bid defense meetings and proposal development. Assess the impact of project specifications on budget and performance; identify and mitigate risks. Develop operational strategy and guide teams to align with broader business objectives. Monitor market trends, competition, and industry developments to identify growth opportunities. Operational Management Provide strategic leadership for all Clinical Operations functions (Clinical Supplies, Vendor Management, Start-Up, Contracts, Training, CRAs, CTAs). Oversee day-to-day departmental operations and drive operational excellence. Optimize processes using Lean, Six Sigma, and digital solutions. Address audit findings with corrective and preventive actions. Strengthen cross-functional collaboration and alignment. Project Management Review operational performance metrics and highlight deviations affecting profitability. Guide teams in preparing and implementing contingency plans. Ensure cross-department alignment on project goals and deliverables. Client Management Manage key strategic client accounts and serve as the escalation point for clinical operations matters. Represent Clinical Operations in client presentations and external initiatives. Review client feedback and guide teams to implement service improvements. Quality Assurance Participate in quality review initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational and client expectations. Evaluate the impact of quality programs and guide teams to adjust processes. Lead initiatives to reduce customer complaints and improve quality. Develop standardized departmental policies, processes, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements. Foster innovation and continuous improvement within the department. Oversee compliance with company policies, SOPs, quality systems, ICH GCP, and client requirements. People Management Promote organizational culture and desired behaviors within the team. Foster continuous development, high performance, and teamwork. Lead recruitment, development, and engagement efforts. Set clear performance expectations and provide coaching and feedback. Assess and address training and development needs. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in science or management (preferably Bioscience or Healthcare). Postgraduate degree in science or management is an advantage. 12 to 15 years of overall experience with a minimum of 8 to 10 years in managing clinical trials. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and pharmacology. Expertise in clinical research, monitoring, and trial design. Solid knowledge of regulatory guidelines (ICH GCP and relevant legislation). Proficient in data analysis, quality assurance, and quality management. Skilled in project and operations management. Good financial acumen and client relationship management. Ability to influence and build strong stakeholder relationships. Adaptability and capability to drive and support change. Effective coaching and mentorship skills. Strong people management and leadership abilities.
