OverviewThe Nanobioengineering Group is seeking a junior postdoctoral researcher to support an ongoing European Pathfinder project to develop novel electrochemical aptamer sensors.ResponsibilitiesPlan and conduct assays for the design and development of biosensors.Optimize novel aptamer beacon platforms.Characterize sensors with electrochemical techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, differential pulse voltammetry, square wave voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and complementary techniques including surface plasmon resonance.Prepare experimental reports, protocols, and contribute to scientific publications.Present findings at internal and external meetings.Participate in weekly lab meetings and actively contribute to lab research and collaborations.Demonstrate excellent manual skills, attention to detail, teamwork, proactivity, and adaptability.Maintain English proficiency in oral and written communication.Requirements for CandidatesUp to 2 years of PhD experience in any field related to biosensors.Strong scientific background in electrochemistry (CV, DPV, SWV, EIS) and aptamers.Experience with aptamer beacons, surface plasmon resonance, and surface chemistry is recommended.Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively.High level of English and excellent oral and written communication skills.Competencies and SkillsCommunicationTeamwork and CollaborationCommitment and ProactivityIntegrityCritical and Analytical ThinkingWe Offer1 full‑time position, 1‑year contract starting 1st February 2026.Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Measures to reconcile work and family life (parental leave, flexible schedule, 23 paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters).Stimulating interdisciplinary research environment and international scientific community.Induction programme and support for visa and relocation in Barcelona.How to ApplyUntil 27th December 2025 an online application form is available through the IBEC dedicated site: Only applications submitted before the deadline will be evaluated.
