One of my clients is looking for a Senior Payroll Lead to take full ownership of payroll operations in a complex, international environment. This is a highly senior role, focused on control, compliance, and continuous improvement rather than pure execution. The position will act as the internal reference for payroll, ensuring accuracy and reliability before payroll data reaches Finance. Key Responsibilities Own payroll processes end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. Act as the main point of control and validation for payrolls prepared internally or by external providers. Manage complex payroll scenarios including variable compensation, benefits, leaves, contractual changes, and different tax situations. Anticipate issues and proactively resolve payroll-related risks. Establish clear payroll workflows, ownership, and accountability. Drive process improvements and automation, reducing manual work and spreadsheet dependency. Partner closely with Finance, HR, and other internal stakeholders to ensure clean and reliable payroll data. Support and guide local stakeholders and vendors across multiple countries. Experience & Skills Extensive experience in Payroll in complex or multi-country environments. Strong understanding of gross-to-net, taxation, social security, and payroll compliance. Proven experience working with external payroll providers and advisors. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Experience in tech or fast-growing environments is a plus. Mindset & Soft Skills Strong ownership and accountability. Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset. Continuous improvement mentality.
