Engineering Operations Technician, EOT L4Job ID: | Amazon Data Services, Inc.Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently hiring an Engineering Technician to support our data centers. The role focuses on ensuring overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations.The Data Center Engineering Technician will maintain and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment that support mission‑critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining high reliability and performance while keeping operating costs to a minimum.ResponsibilitiesSupervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenancePerform limited maintenance tasks, including filter changes, battery system PMs, and Rack PDU & Rack ATS replacementsConduct root cause analysis for operational issuesTroubleshoot facility and rack level eventsEnsure all personnel on-site follow safety protocolsWork on‑call and on a rotating schedule as neededTake daily operational readings and provide metrics reporting to senior engineersPerform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritizationPhysical RequirementsWalk job sites in uneven terrainWork at heights and from laddersRegularly walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlRegularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts for 50 pounds or moreCarry objects weighing up to 49 pounds for short distancesWork shifts longer than eight hours in durationRespond to off‑hour emergency callsMaintain balance and perform construction tasks while on a ladderCoordinate body movements when using tools or equipmentBasic Qualifications1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience, or 1+ years of data center or mission‑critical facilities (e.g., hospital, military, public safety) experienceHigh school or equivalent diplomaPreferred Qualifications2+ years of data center engineering experienceAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.This position will remain posted until filled.
