Bridges and Structures Engineer – AECOM Overview Positions for Bridges and Structures Engineer at AECOM. Location: Madrid, Spain. AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm delivering projects that improve communities and transform skylines. Responsibilities Works as part of a bridges and structures team with other designers at the same functional level across EC offices; undertakes non-routine, medium complex projects. Coordinates and leads small design teams focused on structural design for a specific project. Conducts noncomplex value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials, and construction techniques. Works autonomously within established procedures with latitude to determine work priorities. Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings, including participation in interdisciplinary reviews. Ensures that project technical goals, milestones and budgets are met. Prepares complex project deliverables using a team of junior technical and support staff, providing supervision and mentoring. Qualifications Proven track record of working on bridges and/or structures designs with some experience working with international and multi-cultural teams (+5 years). Experience with international standards (e.g., AASHTO; AREMA; Australian Codes; British Standards, etc.). Proficiency in engineering software for bridge and structures (preferably Midas Civil; CSiBridge, SAP2000, etc. are also well regarded). Experience working in the North America / ANZ region will be considered favorably. Ability to solve complex issues with limited direction in the bridges and/or structures field. Fluent in English (oral and written). Preferred Qualifications Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
