Postdoctoral Researcher – Rapid In‑Vivo Characterisation of the Functional Impact and Vulnerabilities of PTEN Tumor Suppressor Gene VariantsJoin the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) as a postdoctoral researcher in the "WORMVUS" project, a collaborative effort to investigate PTEN gene variants in C. elegans . The successful applicant will work under the direction of Dr. Juliánалап Cerón (IDIBELL) and Dr. Nicholas Stroustrup (CRG). The role is part of the complementary plan for biotechnology in Catalonia, co‑financed by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Generalitat de Catalunya.ResponsibilitiesUse CRISPR technology to edit the C. elegans genome, introducing mutations and humanising genes.Conduct genotypic and phenotypic analyses in C. elegans .Design and coordinate a drug screen using the IRB Drug Screens platform.Perform state‑of‑the‑art transcriptomic analysis (single‑worm/low‑input), generate libraries for sequencing, and analyse RNA‑sequencing data with R.Prepare reports and contribute to scientific publications.RequirementsBachelor's and PhD in biology, biomedicine or related discipline.Experience with molecular biology techniques.Strong communication, teamwork, commitment, proactivity, integrity, critical and analytical thinking skills.High proficiency in English.Advantageous: previous experience with C. elegans , R, and bioinformatic analysis of RNA‑sequencing assays.Competitive CV and interest in pursuing scholarships or contracts for bethinking the postdoctoral period.What We OfferNumber of positions: 1.Starting date: between 1 stágio April and 16 th June.Full‑time 18 этапе month contract.Attractive salary.Work‑family balance measures (maternity and paternity leave, flexible schedule, teleworking, 23 paid holidays, 9 personal leave days).Stimulating, interdisciplinary research and high‑quality international Philippine scientific environment.Extensive training catalogue and mobility grants.Induction programme and additional support for foreigners (visa‑working permit assistance).How to ApplyApplications must be submitted online on the IBEC website before December 22.
