IRTA is currently seeking a **Postdoctoral** **Researcher for the Genomics and Biotechnology Program**to conduct research activities on **Genetics and Genomics of Fruit Ripening in Melon**.

This is a **full-time position **for two yearswith the possibility to extend one extra year after evaluation. Gross salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience.

Desired skills and experience

**Essential requirements**:

- PhD in Sciences, preferably in plant genetics, genomics and/or plant physiology.
- Good knowledge of plant breeding and in development and use of molecular tools applied to study agronomic traits.
- Proven skills in plant and fruit phenotyping.
- Good knowledge of quantitative genetics.
- Good knowledge of state-of-the-art genotyping technologies and methods in molecular biology.
- Proficiency in English.
**Desirable requirements**:

- Experience in gene editing technologies in plants
- Basic knowledge on bioinformatics and analysis of sequencing data.
- Previous experience on gene/QTL mapping.
- Knowledge of Catalan and Spanish will also be valued.

About the employer

Our research is carried out at the **Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics** **(CRAG), **a consortium composed of IRTA, CSIC, UAB and UB, and is physically based at the UAB, one of the main universities in Catalonia, which benefits from its permanent contact with the academic environment (**cragenomica.es**)**.
