It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is the hosting entity for EuroHPC JU. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D in computer and computational science and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.Context and MissionThe Technologies for Biomedical Research Lab (TechBioLab) within the Life Sciences Department brings together specialised teams to enable research activities in the Life Sciences. Activities include research data and software, infrastructure for centralized and federated analysis and learning, and development of Trusted Research Environments to enable analysis of sensitive data without moving data from its original site. The openVRE virtual research environment and WfExS workflow orchestrator are developed to facilitate secure data analysis.
