The Impact: As a Sustainability Research Specialist, you will research, assess, and define corporate sustainability practices, contributing to the creation of the essential sustainability intelligence our clients need. Responsibilities: Analyze corporate sustainability performance across selected sectors using our proprietary CSA methodology Act as the sector knowledge leader in selected sectors, as well as specific underlying ESG topics Monitor and review ongoing company controversies through comprehensive Media & Stakeholder Analysis (MSA) Research emerging global sustainability trends and industry‑specific ESG challenges using proprietary and public datasets Contribute to the development and maintenance of S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment methodology Engage directly with participating companies through feedback calls, webcasts, and management meetings Coordinate sustainability research projects with key internal and external stakeholders across global markets Qualifications: Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, finance, or related field 2+ years of experience in ESG ratings, research, corporate sustainability, or sustainability investing Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail Sound understanding of global sustainability reporting frameworks and emerging ESG trends Advanced Excel proficiency and ability to work with complex datasets Strong project management capabilities, with proven ability to plan and execute work assignments under tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a diverse international team Self‑motivated, organized, detail‑oriented, and possessing a positive, “can do” attitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex information to clients and stakeholders in an easily understandable manner. Second language proficiency is a plus Preferably experience with financial markets and investment products, particularly ESG‑focused strategies Right to Work Requirements: This role is limited to individuals with indefinite right to work in Spain.
