Overview The EMEA Energy and Water team is looking for a Water Infrastructure Manager to support scaling and growth across our Data Centre network. You will drive the development, implementation and construction of new water infrastructure to deliver large-scale water projects that support renewably and strategically operated infrastructure. This role is available in Madrid, Zaragoza, London, Frankfurt and Dublin.AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the cloud. We work on challenging problems with many variables affecting the supply chain and are looking for talented people to help.You will join a diverse team of software, hardware and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers and other vital roles. If your career path is nontraditional or includes alternative experiences, apply anyway.Key job responsibilities Manage design consultants, contractual drafting, develop and document requirements, budgets and project schedules.Lead remote third-party project delivery teams from design through construction; facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot issues and remove barriers to project success.Multitask, re-prioritize and effectively lead deliveries based on changing business needs.Build and maintain the overall delivery program and project budget; submit Capital Allocation Requests to Senior Leadership to secure finance for project delivery.Prepare investment needs and business case papers to secure internal funding for water reinforcement projects to secure water supply and discharges.A day in the life Liaise with regulators and external stakeholders (water utilities, environmental agencies, health departments, construction contractors, etc.).Leverage project management tools and techniques for all project phases.Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics versus commitments.Ensure construction standards are followed and national construction regulations are complied with.Create detailed planning packs to build scalable and future-proof water infrastructure.About the team Work / Life BalanceWe value work-life harmony and strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. An advanced degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or Economics is preferred.10 years combined experience delivering water design, infrastructure and engineering solutions for capital-intensive projects across diversified industries.Language fluency in Spanish and English.3 years of experience with analytical and commercial skill sets to review utility tariffs, water projects and contracts.3 years of experience managing project scope, business cases and infrastructure requirements; develop contracts and draft documentation; request proposals and capital requests.7 years of direct experience with construction, operation or maintenance of water infrastructure across different global regions.Experience with fast-track design/build projects and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders with varied requirements.Analytical mindset to identify gaps, predict performance and provide recommendations on short notice with limited information.Business experience in Europe, LATAM and/or Middle East.5 years demonstrated experience in program management, risk mitigation and reporting to management and internal customers.Equal OpportunityAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
