The center employs over 1000 staff from 60 countries.Key DutiesOptimize and adapt scientific application codes to new pre-exascale architecturesImprove the performance of existing parallel codes, enhancing serial efficiency and scalability, and assist developers with necessary modificationsGenerate performance analysis and benchmarks for selected applications and report results to application developersCollaborate with other functional groups at the European and international levels on technical matters related to supporting scientific application workHelp HPC users to run their codes efficiently and support research teams in adapting their codes to new machinesRequirementsEducation: Bachelor in Computer Science or related disciplineEssential Knowledge and Professional Experience:At least 1 year of experience in a similar HPC positionExperience using performance analysis tools and parallel debuggersExperience supporting and collaborating with external partnersPrevious expertise in parallel programming models (MPI, OpenMP, ...)Good understanding of Linux environment and Shell scriptingAdditional Knowledge and Professional Experience:Experience analyzing and testing different HPC architecturesGood level of EnglishCompetences:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work within a team and complete tasks on scheduleAnalytical problem‑solving abilityConditionsThe position will be located at BSC within the Operations DepartmentFull‑time contract (37.5h/week), flexible hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support for relocation proceduresOpen‑ended contract linked to project and budget durationHolidays: 22 days + 6 personal days + 24th and 31st December under the collective agreementCompetitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, adjusted to Barcelona cost of livingStarting date: ASAPApplications ProcedureSubmit a full CV in English including contact detailsSubmit a cover/motivation letter in English, stating specific area and topics; include two references for further contacts.
