Staff Infrastructure Engineer

Hello We’re excited to announce an opening for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team within the Platform Domain. You will play a critical role in defining and implementing the vision for the Platform supporting Factorial's growth for the years to come. Platform Domain Our mission is to keep the Factorial application running 24/7, ensure its performance, scalability and security, as well as research improvements to enable Product Engineers to develop new use cases adding value to our customers. So...What does a Staff level Engineer do at Factorial ? Design and develop scalable software solutions that meet business requirements and enhance user experience. Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to junior engineers on best practices and coding standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of features. Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and performance optimization. Identify and troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions. Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills and knowledge. Your profile : You’re able to define professional standards and creates concepts used across the company. You have a clear vision for the discipline and works step-by-step to make it real. You’re seen as a leader technically and culturally, maintaining high-quality standards. You drive adoption of new abstractions, creating supporting ecosystems like documentation and metrics. You lead key technical decisions and creates company-wide abstractions when needed. You encourage innovation, continuous learning, and best practices. Engagement/Agency: Thinks company-wide, planning initiatives with horizontal impact. Focuses on creating more Staffs by coaching, sharing knowledge, and easing adoption of new ideas. Engages in long-term strategic thinking, aligning engineering vision with leadership and business. Challenges engineering processes, from hiring to code deployment. Works to connect team efforts with company goals. Requirements: Proven experience as a software engineer , with a strong background in software development methodologies, with experience in SaaS or startup environment being a plus. Expertise in programming languages , such as Java, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript. Experience with cloud platforms , such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Having been on the Tier 2 on-call rotation handling production incidents. Deep knowledge on MySQL administration (deploying, upgrading, fine tuning configuration for performance and stability) – in production Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills in English . At least 10 years of experience working as a Systems/Infra Engineer, with a background as an application developer. For this position, the annual gross salary is 86,250 and 108,000€ . This includes a base salary of between 75,000€ and 90,000€ a variable pay of up to 18,000€ annually (paid quarterly) , depending on the company's goals and quality metrics. You will review code, and get feedback on your own code. You will share your knowledge , through the RFCs you write, pairing sessions, our mentoring program or the occasional appearance in the monthly Tech All Hands.
