Mainframe System Programmer

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe System Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our mainframe environment. In this role, you will ensure the stability, security, and high performance of mission‑critical systems that support our daily business operations. You will also be responsible for planning and overseeing system changes carried out by our external management partner. Key Responsibilities System Administration Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of mainframe systems (z/OS, MVS). Plan, coordinate, test, and monitor system changes executed by the management partner. Performance & Availability Monitor mainframe system performance and optimize resource usage. Conduct capacity planning and provide recommendations for system expansion. Security & Compliance Manage access rights, user administration, and security protocols. Ensure compliance with internal and external security standards. Backup, Recovery & Continuity Implement, maintain, and improve backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures. Participate in planning and execution of business continuity testing. Troubleshooting & Support Diagnose, analyse, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner. Provide expert support, guidance, and advisory assistance to internal teams. Documentation Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date technical documentation, procedures, and operational guidelines. On-Call Responsibilities Participate in 24/7 on‑call rotations for critical system incidents. Required Skills & Experience 5–8 years of hands‑on experience administering IBM mainframe systems (IBM z/OS). Strong knowledge of JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS, IMS, RACF, and SCLM . Proficiency with system management tools such as TSO/ISPF and SDSF . Good understanding of network technologies and communication protocols. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to collaborate with external service providers and coordinate complex system changes.
