Overview Join to apply for the Android Engineer role at Wave Mobile Money . We’re solving financial inclusion in Africa by building services that work everywhere and are accessible. We’re looking for an engineer who’s independent and excited about getting things done, to help build and improve the ways people pay and access money with Wave. Responsibilities Collaborate with Product to design and build features for the tools used by our internal field operations teams. Investigate user feedback and resolve system bugs. Drive technical design discussions and direction. Actively pair with others and perform code reviews. Work closely with other Android engineers to improve processes and approaches. Take ownership of projects from understanding the problem to release, including supporting the customer support team. Join the Field Product team responsible for building and maintaining tools used by field operators to drive user growth. Participate in recent projects such as improved geo-localisation of merchants, redesign of the Field App, supporting new country launches, consolidating field operators on one app, and improving permission management. Requirements Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with at least 2 years building Android applications. Experience using Kotlin + Jetpack Compose in a published app (professional or personal projects). Fluent in English; French is a plus. You might be a good fit if Ask whether the code best serves the user. Push through hard problems and help others improve frontend skills. Are not afraid to tackle complicated systems and to broaden skills into backend or other Android areas. Strive to make things easier for the next engineer who touches the code and continuously improve as a programmer and colleague. About engineering at Wave You’ll join autonomous, cross-functional teams focused on a single area of Wave's product, with ownership from planning to release.
