Overview Sr. Hardware Development Engineer, Bespoke Solutions — AWS. Architect and lead the development of next-generation cloud infrastructure hardware, focusing on complex PCB designs incorporating FPGA SoCs in a dedicated product development lab. This role sits in Northern Virginia at AWS’s new headquarters. The position may require security clearances as described below.Key responsibilities Architect and lead development of complex PCB designs incorporating FPGA SoCsDrive system-level hardware architecture decisions and technical requirementsLead new product introduction (NPI) processes with contract manufacturersDevelop and validate high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuitsEnsure designs meet EMI/EMC compliance, thermal, and signal integrity requirementsPartner with FPGA/firmware teams to define hardware interfaces and requirementsLead design reviews and drive technical consensus across multiple teamsMentor junior engineers and establish hardware engineering best practicesA day in the life You will work with a cross-functional team of hardware, software, and FPGA engineers in our dedicated product development lab. Your day might include architecting new hardware solutions, reviewing PCB designs, collaborating with contract manufacturers, debugging prototypes, or mentoring team members. You\'ll partner closely with product managers to define requirements, work with FPGA engineers to optimize hardware interfaces, and engage with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production ramp-up.About the team Why AWS? The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market.
