Responsibilities This role will coordinate external accountants, operations team, and asset management requirements to perform the day-to-day accounting and finance function and be responsible for the financial reporting of a newly opened PBSA / Hotel asset in Barcelona. Will be supporting the Spanish finance department in preparing budgets and financial forecasts. Work based in Barcelona and report to the Iberia finance team Work with external accountants ensuring that the finance system links to the property booking systems Lead the financial reporting process of the asset and review and provide commentary on monthly performance liaising with applicable managers to ensure that all variances are investigated and explained. Liaise with the Operations team in providing incisive information on business performance, identifying key issues and trends to enable business decisions to be made. Work with the Iberia finance team in the development and continuous improvement of management reporting systems, processes, controls and output, to ensure they are robust and allow for the reporting of this dynamic business experiencing continued expansion. Ensure that all the tax reporting (VAT and Corporation tax) and company reporting requirements are met Assist with the annual audit Ad hoc financial analysis and regular forecasting. Drive the annual budgeting process Keep relationships with all main counterparties including administrators and tax advisors, payroll consultants, management companies in charge of the investment funds owning the building Knowledgeable of Spanish GAAP (IFRS desirable) Flexible and able to work to tight deadlines Knowledgeable of Microsoft Excel Able to speak and write in English and Spanish Closing At Hines, we strive for excellence as a leading global real estate investment manager, driven by our by our belief that real estate is fundamentally about people.
