Overview Assistant Director of People and Culture - Four Seasons Hotel Madrid. Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is seeking an Assistant Director of People and Culture to join our team in Madrid. The role works closely with the Director of People and Culture and oversees the day-to-day running of the People and Culture function. The Assistant Director is a key driver of the employee experience, helping people bring their best selves to work, and building a fair, inclusive, service-centric culture. The position oversees the growth and development of the People + Culture team and activities including employee relations, workforce planning, coaching and development of both leaders and employees, and culture building. Responsibilities Assess the needs in areas such as performance management, employee relations, compensation, career development and leadership development, and drive appropriate solutions in these areas. Act as liaison between employee and management to answer questions or concerns regarding company policies, practices and regulations. Identify, analyze and initiate actions to resolve employee concerns. Manage the People and Culture budget including benefits, labor and salary reports and plan cost-effective events within budget guidelines. Collaborate with Finance on labor meetings, employee attestations, wage and hour training. Organize and supervise all employee programs — recognition, celebrations, community outreach, internal meetings, etc. Respond to employee claims, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment and Wage & Hour matters. Maintain confidentiality of People and Culture information and work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors. Oversee hiring processes, including contracting and onboarding; coordinate recruitment activities (job postings, interviews, offers, applicant tracking, follow-up). Provide guidance during interviewing and support managers throughout the process. Own recruitment and develop innovative ways to attract staff; review recruitment trends (turnover, promotions, local and industry information). Create and develop opportunities to attract, develop and retain people to reach their fullest potential. Develop own team and support the L&D Manager in the global role. Our ideal candidate Previous experience in a similar position. Excellent written and verbal skills. High level of English and a minimum average level of Spanish is required. Exposure to labor law and employment equity regulations. Effective HR administration and people management skills. Full understanding of HR functions and best practices. Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines. Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related tools. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Must have the legal right to work in Spain.
