Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) services, among which, the main one is the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).ESSP recruits a:Datalink Service Expert - (F/M)If you have deep knowledge in Communication Navigation Surveillance with a high level of English, good understanding of European regulation and have at least 5 years of experience in aeronautical communications, then this position is for youBy joining us, you will lead activities in relation to Data Link Services.Your main responsibilities/activities will be:Technical lead and expertise in activities and deliveries related to Data Link Services (DLS):Technical architecture definition;Definition of service modelling and concept of operations characterization based on applicable regulatory framework and standards;Carry out capacity studies and assessments of different technologies such as Satellite Communications (SATCOM);Performance and safety requirements definition;Contribution to business case activities;Support to service provision of DLS services;Leads technical meetings related to DLS projects (e.g., ESMA, CNS DSP, HERON);Report on DLS projects highlighting the current status of activities, next steps, issues/risks identified;Technical lead in the preparation of potential tenders related to DLS/SatCom.PROFILE:Good capacity for analysis, synthesis, and reportingTeam player spiritHigh Level of English (B1-B2) - CEFRLSpanish (desirable)Ability to assume responsibilitiesProactiveness/initiativeDeep knowledge in Communication Navigation Surveillance (CNS) / Air Traffic Management (ATM) technologies, especially focused on datalink technologies (ACARS, VDL Mode 2, SatCom, ATN/OSI, ATN IPS)Good understanding of European regulation (such as, but not limited to, Single European Sky regulatory framework and EASA regulation) as well as applicable standards (ICAO, EUROCAE, RTCA, ARINC…)Deep understanding of datalink communication services supporting ACARS-based applications, ATN-B1, ATN-B2 & ATN-B3Other preferable skills:Understanding of satellite-based controller/pilot datalink supporting air traffic management communicationsGood understanding of ICAO Aviation System Block Upgrade and Global Air Navigation PlanKnowledge of datalink avionicsJOB REQUIREMENTS:Language: English (B1-B2) – CEFR and Spanish (desirable)Engineering degree or equivalentMinimum 6 years of experience in aeronautical datalink (DLS) and applications with at least 2 years of experience in a field relevant to satellite communications (SatCom).Experience in international and multi-stakeholder projectsAvailable for regular travels mainly in EuropeHuman Resources information:1st interview is held by the direct manager of the position you applied for (technical interview)2nd interview is held by HR departmentElement of package of remuneration:Variable: bonuses based on objectivesTeleworking: up to 3 days/weekHealth insurance, Life InsuranceSaving planTickets RestaurantSustainable Mobility Package: Home/Office travels reimbursement if car sharing or bicycling29 holidays (for full time year)ESSP is committed to cultural diversity, gender equality and the employment of disabled workers.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentLanguage:English (Required)Work Location: In person
