Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to success. In addition to hardware and network repair, you will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and fix problems within the data center space. This role operates 24/7 and requires travel within and outside the regional work area.Key Job ResponsibilitiesPerform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability.Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change‑management activities.Contribute to documentation and process‑improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.Help train and onboard new team members.Physical RequirementsRegularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.Work in cramped and/or elevated locations.Bend, lift, stretch, and reach.Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.Work in a noisy environment.Shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations, covering night, day, weekends, and holidays.Essential RequirementsAbility to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed.Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational.Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility.Eligible candidates who relocate for this position will receive a lump‑sum stipend. Amazon does not sponsor immigration for this role.A Day in the LifeAs a Data Center Technician you will:Take ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.Identify root causes of problems and understand broader context.Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.You will also be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided.Basic QualificationsHigh school or equivalent diploma.Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience.Preferred QualificationsExperience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.Experience working in a Data Center environment.An associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent professional or military experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, networking engineering).Understanding of network design, protocols, and layer 1/2 troubleshooting.Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600 /year in the lowest market to $113,200 /year in the highest market. Pay may vary based on location and other factors.
