This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location. The role helps ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations and may involve participation in a primary responder rotation, including monitoring data center infrastructure and coordinating incident response. Primary responder duties may require evening, weekend, holiday, and/or night work to ensure our global data centers operate at high reliability. Work may involve independence and teamwork, prioritization, communication, and rapid problem resolution. You will install equipment, create documentation, and contribute to solutions within the data center space. The team operates 24/7 and travel within and outside of regional work areas is required.All physical requirements are to be expected with reasonable accommodations: Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds; work in a 24/7 environment with after-hours support as needed; work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments; bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day; ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely. For Oregon (OR) and Ohio (OH) sites within AWS GovCloud, access is restricted to U.S. Citizens only.Key job responsibilities Performing server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as neededServing as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractorsPerforming on-call duties and participating in scheduled maintenance and change management activitiesContributing to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issuesHelping to train and onboard new team membersA day in the life As a Data Center Technician, you will take ownership of technical issues, engage other teams when needed to drive resolution, solve problems at their root, maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting, and work shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,200/year in our highest geographic market.
