Advocacy and External Relations Specialist Share Context The Pasqual Maragall Foundation was created in 2008 with the mission of promoting and developing excellent biomedical research. The Foundation is fully committed to being instrumental in contributing to global solutions to the problem of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as to raising social awareness to ensure that scientific support for these challenges receives the appropriate priority. The Foundation's research is conducted at the Barcelonaßeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), a research center established with the participation of Pompeu Fabra University and "la Caixa." The FPM team encompasses diverse areas of infrastructure, systems, finance, purchasing, human resources, communications, advocacy, and philanthropic fundraising. The BBRC's scientific team is comprised of researchers and professionals in the fields of medicine, biology, psychology, and nursing, among others. All of this exists within a dynamic environment where ongoing challenges are part of the Foundation's scope of work. Position Description The selected candidate will be part of the Pasqual Maragall Foundation's Advocacy and Institutional Relations Department, contributing to the development of the area's strategy and lines of action in advocacy, public affairs, and institutional relations. Their goal will be to raise awareness about the impact of Alzheimer's and dementia, and to position these issues on the political and institutional agenda. The position will play an active role in defining and implementing the department's annual plan, with a special focus on international outreach and building alliances with national, European, and international institutions. The position will report directly to the department's management. Main duties of the position Design and develop a strategy to position the Foundation in the field of Alzheimer's, dementia, and aging at European and international levels: Monitor current political, legislative, and institutional developments at European and international levels. Develop and update the map of key actors and relevant initiatives. Promote contacts and implement plans and actions for external relations and alliances with organizations and institutions. Detect opportunities for collaboration and institutional positioning. Write analyses, reports, presentations and strategic documents. Participate in the definition and execution of the annual plan for public advocacy, external projection, and institutional relations: Design and implement actions to raise awareness of the cause and position the Foundation among political representatives, institutions, and organizations in the scientific, healthcare, and social fields. Promote, coordinate, and monitor partnerships with organizations in the fields of Alzheimer's, dementia, and senior living. Promote and monitor institutional representation in national and international forums, networks, and platforms. Establish collaborative frameworks with representatives of other institutions and organizations at the national and international levels. Coordinate with other areas and professionals of the Foundation (Communications, Legal, Social Area, Fundraising, etc.) and with external interlocutors. Personal skills Ability to analyze and draft strategic documents. Organizational and teamwork skills. Commitment to the Foundation's mission. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Social Sciences (Political Science, Journalism, Economics, etc.). Fluent in Catalan and Spanish. Advanced level of English (minimum C1). Consolidated experience in advocacy or public affairs. Previous experience in European organizations. Experience in the third sector will be valued.
