Senior Financial Analyst, AWS Regions Finance - Public SectorJob ID: | Amazon.com Services LLCAWS Finance seeks a Senior Finance Analyst to support the growing AWS Public Sector business. As part of the Regions Finance team, you will provide financial strategic decision support, P&L analysis, and controllership to a wide variety of stakeholders across the business. This position works closely with key business partners and senior finance management to drive thoughtful planning and analysis that informs important strategic decisions as the business expands.Specifically, this role owns the full P&Ls for the infrastructure regions that support Public Sector customers, including revenue, operating costs, and free cash flow. Using these P&Ls, you will drive strategic business decisions—such as infrastructure expansion and initiatives to support customer adoption—and own budgets for senior business leaders, building cost forecasts, tracking actuals, identifying key drivers, and quantifying P&L impact.This is a self‑starter role requiring strong financial modeling, problem‑solving skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment. You will interact regularly with various business units across Amazon and must have strong people skills. The successful candidate must think strategically, perform deep dive analytics, and communicate effectively to senior management.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and enhance P&L models and financial metrics for existing AWS Public Sector regions, and build out reporting and analyses when new regions launch.Develop deep and impactful business insights and KPI dashboards, and lead ad‑hoc analyses.Communicate frequently and effectively with business leaders, using timely and accurate financials to help make business decisions.Drive the financial planning/budgeting process for AWS Public Sector regions, and track the key drivers that determine regional performance relative to the plan.Analyze new business ideas, make analytical judgments, and provide data‑intensive analyses to drive meaningful change.Lead key analytical projects that assist and influence the business.Develop plans and operational strategies for new initiatives to drive adoption in regions.Provide deep analytics and communicate effectively to senior business leaders.Basic Qualifications3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).U.S. citizenship required due to the nature of work performed.Preferred Qualifications3+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision‑making.Experience in financial modeling, P&L management, or analysis.Experience with cube engine tools (e.g., TM1, Cognos, Essbase), SQL, and data warehouse.Experience working with stakeholders.EEO StatementAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
