Junior Civil Engineer

To consolidate and further develop its consultancy activities, 3E is looking for a Civil Renewable Energy Engineer, in the Barcelona office, where you will be working with our team of experienced experts who will be your continuous sounding board as you meet the needs of our customers. You will work as a Civil Engineer, with your main focus on the different activities related to the design stage of a PV, BESS or Wind projects. You will assist 3E's clients, by assessing the suitability of a project site, preparing the technical drawings needed for permit applications, and later, for construction. You will gradually grow into a full advisory coordinator role, being exposed also to other phases of a renewable energy project, including construction, operational activities, and technical due diligence. At first your responsibilities will be to deliver civil technical drawings and calculation notes for the design of solar, BESS and Wind projects in and outside of Spain. Next to that, you will gradually evolve towards performing other technical assessments, either from the office or during site inspections. Your main tasks will include: • Foundation design using CYPE • Drainage design • Earthwork calculations, using Civil 3D and proprietary tools • Review of geotechnical, hydrological, and topographic reports • Collaboration with the drafting team to prepare deliverables • Drafting reports for administrative, basic, or detailed projects • Preparation of bills of quantities • Project constraint analysis using QGIS • Preparation of PV, wind, and BESS layouts based on manufacturer specifications • Perform site inspections before, during and after construction of the projects • Perform site inspections during the commissioning and operational phase of the projects. As a consultant you will either work as an expert on a project managed by one of your colleagues or you will take the role of project manager yourself. As a project manager you are responsible for the communication with your client, potential other stakeholders and your colleagues, for managing the budget and planning of the project and for its timely and qualitative delivery. RequirementsWe are looking for a dynamic colleague who is eager to learn, who can bring an open and flexible mindset and who has very strong organisational skills. • You have a Master or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. • You have a clear interest for Renewable Energy, and the mindset of a consultant: you are client-oriented, dynamic and a quick learner. • Ideally you have a first working experience in Renewable Energy Project Design, Project Development and/or construction.  • You are open to travel regularly for short of midterm periods to project sites in Spain, Portugal, Italy or Latin America. •  You have strong communication skills. Of course, there are some non-negotiables: • You read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish. • You have experience in civil design and design software (AutoCAD & CYPE).
