Location: Remote | HQ: MadridCommitment: Part-time to Full-time | EquityIndustry: Crypto / DeFi / LendingStage: Pre-Seed | MVP in development About BlockGi BlockGi is a peer-to-peer lending platform where users can get instant loans in stablecoins backed by Bitcoin collateral. We’re building a fully transparent, self-custodial infrastructure that combines the security of BTC with the liquidity of USDT/USDC. Smart contracts, automated risk monitoring, and user-friendly interfaces are at the heart of our vision. We’re looking for a technical co-founder (CTO) with deep blockchain experience to lead the tech roadmap, build the MVP, and grow with us from day one. What You’ll Do Own and architect the entire tech stack (initially Web3 + backend). Design and implement smart contracts for Bitcoin-collateralized loans (BTC native or via wrapped solutions). Develop key systems: collateral management, margin call logic, stablecoin disbursement, KYC/API integrations. Make strategic choices on L1s/L2s and custody solutions. Lead or manage future hires (devs, auditors, etc.). Collaborate directly with the founders on product, compliance, and roadmap. Build something ambitious that you’ll be proud of. You Are A builder with strong knowledge of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and smart contract development (Solidity, Rust, or Script-based alternatives). Comfortable with multisig, self-custody, and designing secure, trust-minimized protocols. Experienced with DeFi and crypto lending protocols (e.g. Aave, Sovryn, Tropykus, Debifi, etc.). Entrepreneurial mindset, ready to join as co-founder, not just employee. Bonus if you have experience with: Chainlink oracle.
