Postdoctoral Researcher – Targeting a Mitotic Polyglutamylation Enzyme in Cancer (Ppcc-MITOCANCER)Join the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) to support a cutting‑edge research program that aims to identify new therapeutic targets for breast cancer and other tumor types through single‑cell sequencing and high‑throughput screening.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate the collection and processing of primary tumour samples from patients at hospital clinics for single‑cell sequencing at the CRG.Participate in the analysis of sequencing data in collaboration with the Bioinformatics Core.Perform cell‑culture work in breast‑cancer cell lines to investigate the role of the target enzyme in cancer progression.Carry out biochemical assays to determine enzyme activity and support the set‑up of high‑throughput screening for slow‑acting inhibitors.Validate potential hit compounds and contribute to the preclinical evaluation pipeline.Attend meetings at the Hospital de la Vall d’Hebron to discuss project progress and coordinate logistics.RequirementsEssentialPhD in Cell Biology, Cancer Biology or a closely related field.Solid experience in cell‑ and molecular‑biology techniques.Strong communication, teamwork and analytical skills.High English proficiency.AdvantageousExperience handling primary tumour tissue.Bridge between basic and clinical research.Knowledge of bioinformatics.Benefits & Working ConditionsFull‑time, 18‑month contract, starting 1 Apr – 16 Jun.Attractive salary and 23 calendar days of paid holidays.Flexible working hours, teleworking options, maternity and paternity leave.Access to IBEC training catalogue, mentoring programme and visa support for foreign researchers.How to ApplySubmit an online application through the IBEC website by 20 Feb (reference: PPCC‑MITOCANCER).
