Open Source Enterprise Sales / Alliances Join Canonical’s team as an Open Source Enterprise Sales / Alliances sales specialist. Role Overview The role’s core purpose is to drive revenue growth for Canonical, working across both direct enterprise accounts and partner ecosystems, including hardware vendors, software vendors, solutions integrators, and distributors. The Enterprise Sales Executive focuses on building and expanding relationships with corporate customers, crafting solutions that accelerate digital transformation. The Alliances Sales Director manages the book of business with go‑to‑market partners to identify, enable and grow joint opportunities. Reporting to senior sales and alliances leadership, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams—marketing, product, finance, legal, and support—to deliver on targets and create value for customers and partners. Location: Remote roles available worldwide. Responsibilities Develop deep knowledge of Linux, cloud software ecosystems and open‑source selling models. Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with customers and partners. Build and expand strategic relationships with key stakeholders. Own strategy and development of sales engagements. Raise customer awareness of open‑source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu. Deliver on sales targets, objectives and serve as a voice for partner or customer interests. Travel domestically and internationally to drive partnerships and meet clients. Align and support internal field teams in identifying, growing and closing deals. Work closely with marketing, sales engineering and product management to meet goals. Lead executive interlocks between partners/customers and Canonical’s leadership team. Qualifications Track record of exceeding revenue expectations in the technology sector. Experience with Linux and open‑source ecosystems. Strong academic background, preferably in a technical discipline, or a compelling alternative narrative. Demonstrated confidence in speaking up, offering feedback and sharing ideas. Leadership and commitment to skill development and mentorship. Passion for technology evidenced by personal projects and initiatives. Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability. Appreciation of diversity and effectiveness in a multicultural, multinational environment. Self‑motivation, results orientation and high personal drive to meet commitments.
