Grid Connection Engineer - X-ELIO Location: Madrid, Community of Madrid, Spain. Company: X-ELIO, a Brookfield‑owned global leader in renewable energy. With over 3 GW of renewable projects built, we operate in 12 countries and have a development pipeline of 12 GW of solar and 14 GW of BESS capacity. Reporting to the Engineering and Construction Director (Europe) and based in Madrid, we are looking for a Grid Connection Engineer responsible for managing all stages of HV grid connection design of renewable projects. Responsibilities Supervision and optimization of conceptual/schematic/detailed design of HV grid connection design, including calculations, technical specifications and drawings for PV and BESS projects. Quantity survey and budgeting of designs to produce the design BOQ. Manage and communicate engineering/technical input to site evaluation and characterization. Represent X-ELIO in meetings, negotiations with clients, suppliers, consultants, utilities and regulatory authorities. Represent X-ELIO as a technical referent for DNOs and TSOs. Qualifications BEng, with focus on Electrical engineering. A master’s degree in Photovoltaic, Renewable Energy or similar would be considered a plus. Experience in the conceptual design of MV/HV electromechanical design of substation and UG/OH lines. Knowledge of HV interconnection design in accordance with TSO and DSO standards. Computer/Design Software literacy: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point). Knowledge in ETAP, DigSILENT simulation tools is a plus. Languages: English, Spanish.
