OverviewIBEC, an inclusive employer and a member of myGwork – the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community – is recruiting research staff for the implementation of the “Collaborative Projects” selected in Catalonia within the framework of the Complementary Plan for Biotechnology in Catalonia, co‑funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Generalitat de Catalunya.PositionThe +Pec Proteomics Research Group (+PPRG) of the Institut d'Investigació Biomèdica de Lleida (IRBLleida), led by Dr. Gallart Palau and Dr. Serra, seeks a postdoctoral researcher to optimize and validate a new drug delivery platform based on extracellular vesicles (BP‑EVs), protected by European patent, for targeted drug release within the Central Nervous System (CNS). The project is part of the “Validation of BP‑EVs as a next‑generation compound delivery platform for targeted release within the Central Nervous System” (EVBRAINTARGET) within IBEC’s Plan Complementario de Biotecnología aplicada a la Salud.ResponsibilitiesOptimize loading of antipsychotic compounds in BP‑EV nanocarriers.Evaluate conditions for preservation and conservation of loaded nanocarriers.Conduct in vitro and in vivo studies to assess cell‑targeting capacity of loaded nanocarriers in the CNS and their drug‑release mechanisms.Prepare and publish scientific articles; participate in conferences and conduct seminars, preferably with moderate to high independence.Contribute creatively to experimental design and scientific project preparation.Collaborate with a predoctoral researcher who will support the execution of the tasks.RequirementsEssentialMaster’s degree in Biotechnology, Biomedicine, or related fields.Accredited experience evidenced by publications in journals indexed by the Journal Citation Reports, preferably as lead author.Experience in animal experimentation (murine models).Competencies: communication, teamwork, collaboration, commitment, proactivity, integrity, critical and analytical thinking.High level of English proficiency.AdvantageousExperience with mass spectrometry techniques, mainly proteomics.Experience in omics data analysis.Experience supervising predoctoral students.Independently writing scientific articles.Interest in progressing independently in a research career.Working ConditionsFull‑time, 18‑month contract.Starting date: between 1st April and 16th June.Attractive salary (exact amount available upon request).Measures to reconcile work and family life: maternity and paternity leave, flexible schedule, teleworking, 23 working days of paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters.Stimulating, interdisciplinary research and high‑quality international scientific environment.IBEC offers training in technical and transferable skills, mobility grants, a mentoring programme, induction programme, and support for foreigners to obtain visa‑working permits.How to ApplySubmit an online application through the IBEC dedicated site before the deadline of February 10th.
