Solutions & Software Engineer role at Kapsch GroupJob DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Solutions & Software Engineer for the design and development of high performant geo‑spatial data processing systems with strong emphasis on geo‑spatial algorithms, graph databases and geo‑analytics. This role is pivotal in shaping the architecture and core algorithms of advanced Location Based Services (LBS) for traffic management and tolling.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to the design and implementation of scalable GIS platforms and GNSS based services including the data ingestion, near real‑time processing, storage, data analytics and visualizationLead the design, implementation and refinement of geo‑spatial algorithms and optimized data models for geo‑queries, map matching, shortest path finding, map conflation, etc.Design, develop and refine the probabilistic models, typically used in Hidden Markov Models to deal with GNSS data, based on both statistical analysis and machine learningEvaluate and select appropriate technologies for location‑based servicesResearch on data and algorithmic processingOptimize performance of maps, spatial queries and geo‑processing tasksDevelop machine learning models such as transition probability estimationCollaborate with data scientists, software and QA automation engineers, and domain expertsGather, analyze, and document functional and technical system requirementsWork closely with development teams to deliver top quality workProfileMaster’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related fieldProven experience (3+ years) in system architecture and statistical modelingProficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, SQLProficiency in math; interest in Machine Learning /Deep LearningCollaborative mindset and ability to work across interdisciplinary teamsStrong communication and technical leadership skillsVery good oral and written English skillsNice To HaveExperience with ML/DL applied to spatial dataUnderstanding of GIS concepts, spatial data structures, coordinate systems, and map projectionsPractical know‑how of geo‑spatial librariesExperience of real‑time data processing and streaming using e.g., Kafka, MQTTWorking experience with IoT, GPS trackingOur offerPermanent roleFlexible working hoursHybrid working model (3 days of remote work per week)30 business days of annual leaveFlexible remuneration planAn interesting full‑time position within a global renowned family owned companyChallenging limits of mobility for a healthy world without congestionSpace for creating innovative solutions and ideas for our fast growing markets#J-18808-Ljbffr
