Head of Construction Position Overview As a Head of Construction, you will be part of a high‑performing Overwatch EMEA team delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical data center developments in Spain. Acting as an on‑site representative of the owner, you will lead construction delivery from pre‑construction through commissioning and operational handover. You will be responsible for safety, schedule, cost, quality, and risk across complex, fast‑tracked capital programs while coordinating design, engineering, construction, utilities, and commissioning activities. Responsibilities Act as the end‑to‑end construction lead for mission‑critical data center delivery programs. Develop and execute construction delivery strategies aligned with project objectives and capacity requirements. Partner with design and engineering teams to ensure scopes are coordinated prior to construction. Lead pre‑construction planning including constructability, logistics, utilities strategy, and site mobilisation. Define and manage construction contracting strategies (EPC/GC, multi‑package, early works). Oversee all phases of data center construction, including base build, MEP, and commissioning readiness. Manage EPC/GC partners, contractors, and vendors, driving accountability, safety, and performance. Develop and manage construction budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and change management. Identify delivery, schedule, and financial risks and implement mitigation strategies. Conduct regular site engagement to validate safety, quality, coordination, and schedule adherence. Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and support operational handover at project completion. Implement HSE and quality assurance processes in compliance with applicable standards and regulations. Qualifications Proven experience leading construction delivery of large‑scale, mission‑critical facilities. Strong understanding of data center construction, MEP systems, commissioning, and operational requirements. Experience with EPC/GC delivery models, OFCI equipment, and utilities coordination. Advanced project scheduling, tracking, and reporting capability (P6 or equivalent). Strong budget management, forecasting, and commercial management experience. Ability to operate autonomously in high‑visibility, owner‑side delivery roles. Professional fluency in Spanish and English.
